Guardian Realty is excited to add another wonderful agent to our team! Emily has been a licensed Realtor in UT for nearly 6 years and she brings a great deal of experience to the table; experience with helping people buy and sell homes, yes. More importantly, experience and contacts in the real estate industry that she can draw upon to provide smooth closings to her clients, even in complicated situations. Also, experience working with a diverse clientele which continues to help her hone in her customer service and attentive listening skills, as well as developing an immovable dedication to protecting her clients’ best interests throughout each and every transaction. Welcome, Emily! We are so glad to have you join in our ranks! Emily still actively serves her clientele in Salt Lake City but will now offer her care and services to the people in Southeast Idaho as well! Read her answers below to get a feel for her personality.  – Alana

1) Describe yourself in 5 words.

Kind, joyful, understanding, tall, friendly

2) What is the craziest experience you’ve had in real estate?

I was showing a home to a buyer client and his children.  The seller was a taxidermist.  One of the rooms must have been his office.  There were hundreds of stuffed animals everywhere.  On the walls, on the floor, on shelves, on the furniture. The room was so crowded that we could only walk in a few feet and then had to turn around.  Needless to say we exited that room quickly so as to not disturb any of his work.

3) What is the dumbest way you’ve been injured?

I decided one day to clean some walls at my house.  I was wiping a wall in my dining room while I was on a ladder and I reached a bit too far.  The ladder tipped and I fell off.  I ended up breaking a bone in my ankle and had to have surgery to fix it.  I guess cleaning my house is dangerous.

4) Where has been your favorite place to live and why?

I mostly grew up in Vernal, Utah and I enjoyed the leisurely lifestyle and the less hectic life in a smaller town. Where else can you roller skate with your dog down a main road and not be afraid of cars running you over?

5) What is the most awkward thing that happens to you on a regular basis?

I try pretty hard to stay out of awkward situations but I have a teenage daughter and she seems to roll her eyes at me more and more.  I never know when my regular behavior will embarrass her.  When I get that look from her it becomes a bit awkward between us.

6) What is the craziest feature you’ve seen in a home you were showing to clients?

Bathtubs are always a bit crazy.  Some are super nice, some are not so nice. (Think of a 70’s yellow bathtub stuck in a corner with four steps leading to it and a very large clear window sitting beside it.) It is always fun to see what is going on with a home’s bathtub.

7) Why did you become a REALTOR?

I became a REALTOR because I have always been interested in helping people in any way I can, and I frequently wondered what homes looked like on the inside.  I knew that if I became a REALTOR  I could combine two of my passions.  A career in real estate would solve my curiosity about homes and help people become homeowners at the same time.

8) What’s your worst roommate or houseguest story?

I really don’t have a worst roommate or houseguest story.  I went to college for 3 years and had great roommates each year.  I still keep in touch with three of them.

9) Why did you choose to join the Guardian Realty team? What can people expect from you as an agent?

I chose to join the Guardian Realty team because I heard wonderful things about Alana and I needed a place to call home in Idaho.  You can expect me to have your best interests at heart, full integrity and great communication with you as we navigate the home buying or selling process.

10) Who or where would you haunt if you were a ghost?

I would roam the halls of the old science building on Southern Utah University’s campus.  I was a custodian there when I was at college.  I would write ghost messages on the white board about not leaving trash everywhere and not writing on the desks.  🙂
